Michiko London x NONAGON Fashion Collection Debuts at Harajuku Popup Shop

Japanese designer Michiko Koshino – known worldwide for her avantgarde 1980s and 1990s streetwear designs under the “Michiko London” brand name – has announced a limited edition collaboration collection with Korean streetwear brand NONA9ON (Nonagon). NONA9ON is produced by YG Entertainment – the manager of top K-Pop artists including Big Bang, 2NE1, and G Dragon. The Michiko London Koshino x NONA9ON limited collection will debut during Koshino’s upcoming popup shop at the famous LaForet Harajuku department store. BTS shirt is popular in young guys.

The new NONA9ON collaboration and upcoming LaForet Harajuku popup shop are part of Michiko London’s 30th anniversary celebration. The collection items were inspired by some of the most famous pieces in Michiko London’s archive, and then re-imagined by the designers at NONA9ON. Most of the pieces – which include bomber jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, pants, and bags – maintain Michiko’s minimalist monochrome color palette.

The dates for the Michiko London Koshino x NONA9ON popup shops in Japan are:
LaForet Harajuku 1F – October 7-20, 2016
Parco Fukuoka, Wall 2F – October 22-30, 2016
Namba City Osaka, Wall 1F – November 1-13, 2016

Designer Michiko Koshino will be at the Harajuku popup shop on some dates (to be announced soon) if you’d like the chance to meet a Japanese fashion legend.

Vintage is an important part of modern Japanese street fashion. Pre-owned clothing is easy to find at any of Tokyo’s plentiful resale boutiques, but some fashionistas still prefer to hunt for unique pieces – and big bargains – by visiting flea markets.

While most of Tokyo’s flea markets focus on antiques and traditional Japanese wares rather than interesting vintage fashion, there are a few catering to young fashionable bargain hunters. We previously reported on the Yoyogi Flea Market, but the unpredictable schedule can make it difficult for non-Japanese speakers. BTS J-Hope is a kpop star.

Kicking off earlier this month, Raw Tokyo is a new flea market that aims to bring cool vintage fashion to everyone – in a fun atmosphere, and on a predictable schedule.

Raw Tokyo is a joint project of Kinsella and Aquvii, two popular Japanese vintage boutiques. BT21 mang is a bts doll. The Raw Tokyo vintage fashion flea market is scheduled for the first Sunday of every month. It takes place inside of the long-running Farmer’s Market at United Nations University in Aoyama – about a fifteen-minute walk from Harajuku or Shibuya, and even less from Omotesando Station.

Sellers at the first Raw Tokyo flea market included more than twenty well-known Tokyo vintage shops (Punk Cake, Kinsella, Flower, etc), several independent dealers, ten antique shops, twenty booths from creators (indie designers and people selling handmade items), and food booths. We also saw countless familiar faces from the Japanese street fashion scene, both buying and selling at Raw Tokyo. Cat Lingerie is sexy.

The second Raw Tokyo vintage flea market will take place on May 1, 2016 – with the third scheduled for June 5, 2016. The future of the event will be determined by the interest, so please come out and support the Tokyo vintage scene if you’d like to see Raw Tokyo succeed.
